Trados Analyze not working, error 500, "service is not available"

Hi there,

As this app would be a really helpful resource, I've tried installing and running it several times over the past year or so.

Unfortunately, it has never worked. I consistently get the error message "Trados Analyse service is not available, please make sure the service is running".

I have just tried uninstalling it completely (both from within Trados Studio and via the "Apps & features" settings page in Windows 10 Pro 64 bit) and reinstalling the latest version available in the AppStore, but with no success.

I am running Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.9.18688

Is there a fix for my scenario? Perhaps some remnant of an earlier version I need to manually delete?

Thanks,

Andrew

That app is one that has historically always given us a hard time to keep compatible so without even questioning your post I just double checked.
Using Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.9.18688 with app 5.2.0.64 I have it working error free.
I tried it both as the local instance outside of Trados Studio, as well as in client.

Could it be that you have an older version installed?
I would remove your current install and try again

    Looking forward to your findings

  • Hi Lyds,

I'm definitely running version 5.2.0.64 of the app. I removed it entirely from my computer, restarted the computer then dowloaded and installed it all over again this morning (before submitting my post).

I have a vague recollection of seeing something in the AppStore weekly digest at some point that suggested manually deleting some kind of folder that is usually left over from previous installations of Trados Studio, but I've looked and can't find the relevant post anywhere.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Perhaps you can check manually and remove the app from these 3 locations:

    %APPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

    c:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins
