There is no functionality in the plugin to support this... yet.  But I'm wondering why you wouldn't use the DeepL desktop application for this in the meantime?

I don't have timelines for any updates but significant changes in the next release of Trados Studio will support this sort of feature for any developer really well and we will certainly be looking to capitalise on them.

I just wanted to make sure that I was not overlooking a functionality in Trados Studio. We will use DeepL desktop application in the meantime. We are definitely interested in this functionality in the future.

I'd be very interested to know what your usecase is for this?  Clearly running a concordance on the active segment isn't really helpful since DeepL is only going to return the translation anyway and you already have this.  So how would you use this in practice?

It was more a question of whether this possibility existed. We are currently looking into how we can integrate DeepL in our workflow and trying to cover all of our colleagues' questions.

I believe there was also the issue of confidentiality and the GDPR; we might not want to use DeepL for complete texts or sentences in certain instances.
