DeepL plugin update fails

I am trying to update my DeepL plugin.

But I get the error message: "Download failed for DeepL Translation Provider. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I am using Trados Studio 2021 (updated to the last version Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338).

I am a DeepL Pro subscriber.

Any help with troubleshooting this? Thanks in advance.

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide any recent changes to your system or software, and mention your operating system and its version.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

The error message you're encountering usually occurs when the software tries to use an object reference that has not been set to an instance of an object. This could be due to a variety of reasons, including issues with the plugin itself or conflicts with other software.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Ensure that your Trados Studio 2021 is up-to-date. You mentioned that you're using Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338, which is the latest version, so you're good on this front.

Step 2: Try uninstalling the DeepL plugin, then reinstalling it. Before reinstalling, make sure to manually delete all related files from the following folders (replace [USERNAME] with your actual username):

    - c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages\

    - c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked\

    - c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages\

    - c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked\

    - c:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages\

    - C:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked\

This process is necessary to prevent the old plugin files from interfering with the new installation.

Step 3: If the issue persists, it might be due to a conflict with another software or system setting. In this case, you might want to check for any recent changes to your system or software that might be causing this issue.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.
