need help finding the desired AHK version to install on my laptop

Dear AHK users,

I installed the AHK program on my laptop a while ago, but it doesn't seem to be working the same way as the AHK program on my desktop (computer).

The one on my laptop doesn't have the option of "Edit this Script" when I right click the running AHK script.  I may have installed the incorrect AHK version on my laptop.  Can someone provide me with a link to the version that has the "Edit this Script" option?

I am attaching two screenshots, one from my laptop(right) and one from my desktop(left).  Hopefully the screenshots explain better than my descriptions:)

Thank you for your kind help!

PS. My desktop runs on Windows 10.

  • I am still trying to make AHK work properly on my laptop machine. Here is another screenshot I'd like to share.

So is it the normal way to compile or run an AHK script with the latest AHK version, by selecting the source and destination files and then convert to get an execution file?  This is far more complicated than just compiling the ahk text file.  And the problem with this is once the ahk file becomes an exe file, then I can't edit the scripts properly in Notepad.

Also, I noticed that the .ahk file I moved from my desktop computer to laptop becomes a pdf file by default on the laptop (see the top at the screenshot above).  Could this indicate that I did not install the correct version of AHK?  I thought I would see an icon with a big letter H for this ahk file.

This is all very confusing to me.  Thank you in advance for sharing with your expertise with me.
