I think you might have to work out the keyboard shorcuts for this and then use them in AHK.  The only other way is probably to use the API and this may not be possible for you unless you know how to develop (in which case why use AHK?) and you have the Professional licence since the project creation API is not available to a Freelance licence.

But I'm by no means an expert with AHK.  Jesús Prieto or might have a better approach.

Thanks Paul, but such a shortcut in SDL, not in AHK (or another way of selecting the most recently added file) was the goal of my question. But thanks for your quick answer and for the recommended names. Much appreciated.

There isn't one... you'll need to string together a number of shortcuts.  Possibly using a combination of dedicated shortcuts and simple Alt commands that activate the ribbons.
