I recently started using Language Cloud and I was wondering if either AdaptiveMT or Custom Engines were better suited to certain specialisations (a given industry, client or project etc.)?
For example, is it best to use Custom Engines for specific clients and Adaptive MT for a given project or a certain domain? Or are both engines equally well-suited to all these things?
Does anyone have any advice on the matter?

But getting back to your original question-
Of course its always beneficial (and being able to) if you can set up individual (custom) TM's (sorted maybe by client!) which will return far better and more accurate results than say a generic 'one size fits all' TM. You can therefore ensure you are also matching a particular clients writing style.
You can of course create your own Custom Engines from existing resources- but adequate time must be set aside to ensure you get the results you want.
AdaptiveMT is I think in this particular case, is more suited to the individual translator as this adapts to their individual writing style.
