Can't open a Language Cloud termbase by double-clicking it in the Resources view

The YouTube video (which seems a bit dated) tells me I can open a termbase by double-clicking on its name. But nothing happens when I do that. So how can I open it (for example to edit the termbase entries)? (The Help tells me to "select inside a termbase row", which seems to mean the same thing as in the video. So no help there.)

  • Hi

The problem is that you are still on the old legacy subscription. When we updated to Studio 2019 SR1 the subscription mechanism changed as documented here in the release notes:

    gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge

There is another article here that explain better what you need to do in order to continue using language cloud terminology:

    gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge

The issue in a nutshell is that the old free package gave you five termbases. The new one only gives you one. So you cannot edit your termbases, but you can export them so you don't lose and data you had and convert them to normal MultiTerm databases.

So you should probably do this:

    1. Export the databases so you don't lose them
    2. Change your subscription as per the second KB article above
    3. Create new cloud based termbases based on whatever you decide meets your needs

If you have any more questions on this please post in here, and if you have some suggestions on how the articles could be improved please post this in there too.
