Quality of LC translation?

Question

SDL offers quite a few different MT options, but I find it confusing to see which is which, what are the costs and what is the quality. 
 As far as I am concerned, DeepL is the benchmark for English-German translations, and I know from colleagues who say the same about English-French. 
 What I really like about SDL's cloud stuff is the possibility to prescribe the use of certain terms through the Termbase integration. The free LC version that comes with Studio is definitely inferior to DeepL. But there are other options. I would like to know what their quality is (can I test them?), what their cost is? 
 Could somebody once compile a list with products and costs (I am only interested with products that can be integrated in Studio). 
 That would be helpful.Thanks in advance.

Hi Daniel! 
 Here's a list of MT APIs , 75 APIs in total: https://machinetranslate.org/ apis 
 For each API, you can see the TMS/CAT integrations, i.e. in which tools it's available. 
 For example, for DeepL : https://machinetranslate.org/ deepl #integrations . (Trados Studio is listed there.) 
 You can also see the customization options, which is often has more practical impact on quality than the out-of-the-box generic quality on content samples that probably do not match your content. 
 Very soon - potentially within hours, when the Americas wakes up and has a cup of yerba mate! - you'll be able to get a list of MT APIs for each TMS/CAT.

 sorry for the late reply. In a nutshell, Language Cloud is the only option for a freelance translator or a small localization department. BeGlobal and ETS are (hope I remember correctly) MT solutions that can be installed on-site, and their big USP is that no data has to be transmitted over the internet. So if your company does really confidential and classified stuff, this might be the way you want to go. Costs are totally out of the question for freelancers. Their quality is quite a bit better than the Language Cloud, which works on a statstical model rather than a neural network, the latter being the state-of-the-art method. I use LC for certain, simple, repetitive translations, where I can train the adaptive engine and use the Glossary to enforce certain translations.

 I think Daniel is using the Beta version of Studio. You won't see this yet because it has still not been released.
