How to action MT look-up only for occasional segments

Question

I'd like to perform a look-up with RWS Language Cloud only occasionally. At the moment, MT is triggered when my TM returns nothing and the MT suggestion (from RWS Language Cloud) appears in the Translation Results window. The suggestion in the top window distracts me when I'm busy translating the active segment &ndash; it interrupts my train of thought. 
 Is it possible to perform MT look-up on demand only? I can do it through GT4T with a simple shortcut, but I'd like to do it through the Language Cloud.

 We looked at building a plugin for this a long time ago... but we were unable to do it because we didn't have what we needed in the API to do it. I did actually think about revisiting this and we discussed it last week with the appstore team, but we didn't give it any priority due to other things. 
 I think your best bet is to create an idea for this, see if you can get some support, and that will help two things: 
 
 help me to prioritise the effort to revisit this 
 encourage the product manager to think about making this a core product feature... which I absolutely think it should be
