Hello,
I downloaded DeepL for Trados 2017. When I try to open and install the file (via double click), nothing happens.
I also downloaded the SDLPluginInstaller and put the file into this folder
...\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\Packages
but this doesn't work either.
Does anybody know a solution?

Just to confirm is 3.8.12.0 the version you download?
When you place the plugin to SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\Packages - and then try launch Studio
Do you see second folder SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\Unpacked?
If yes do you see DeepL listed
What other apps do you have installed?

I just opened the Unpacked folder, it took a while but now I see DeepL listed and it works in Trados Studio.
