I don't really know what to suggest because we don't support the 2017 version of the plugin anymore.  I have heard from others that this failed in 2017 with W11.  I think there are three problems really:

1. 2017 itself isn't supported anymore
2. 2017 and any plugins using that environment, have never been tested against W11 and probably never will
3. DeepL have updated their API and the 2017 version of the plugin might still be using the old one

Not a very helpful answer I'm afraid, so perhaps someone who has managed to figure out what the problem is will be able to provide you with a better answer.

Ok, thanks for the fast reply. If anyone else has found a workaround, I'd be very appreciative. The upgrade to 2021 is pricey for the professional license & I don't think the funds will be there on my end. :(
