This is a problem I have been having for a while now. It happens consistently across multiple files. I just attended a webinar about how to use machine translation in Trados Studio, hoping that my issue was simply a matter of incorrect settings. But my settings are correct, as far as I can see. I think it must be a bug.

The problem is, when I run pre-translate using the Language Cloud Machine Translation Provider, it doesn't work. This is different from previous questions on this forum where the pre-translate function worked but left 5% of the segments empty. In my case, nothing gets pre-translated at all. If I place my cursor in the segment, the machine translation promptly fills in the segment. So it is activated and working. But in order to pre-translate an entire file, I have to go through it and click on each segment, one at a time, which is very time consuming. Pre-translate does work with my local TMs. It used to work with the Language Cloud Machine Translation TM, but at some point it stopped working and I have no idea why.

I am using Trados Studio 2021 SR2 - 16.2.12.9338. The only TM I am using is the Language Cloud Machine Translation Provider, no other TMs. My Project Settings are as follows:
