Unable to sign into language cloud in Trados Studio but credentials work in browser

Hi there,

I'm running Trados Studio 2017 and when I try to add SDL language cloud machine translation my login credentials don't work. I can obviously sign into my account here. I have reset my password several times but it still doesn't work. It has worked in the past, but I probably haven't used it in the last year or so. Any ideas? Also, where can I find my API key so I can try adding it that way?

TIA!

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact error message you receive when trying to log in, as well as the specific steps you've already taken to troubleshoot the issue.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello there,

It sounds like you're experiencing some challenges with signing into Language Cloud within Trados Studio 2017. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    **Step 1:** **Check Your Credentials**

Ensure that you are using the correct email and password. Since you mentioned that you can log in through the browser, double-check for any typos when entering your credentials in Trados Studio.

    **Step 2:** **Clear Cached Data**

Close Trados Studio and navigate to the following directory:

    `C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\`

Look for files named `Language Cloud.bin` or `Language Cloud Machine Translation.bin` and rename them to `Language Cloud_OLD.bin` or `Language Cloud Machine Translation_OLD.bin`. This will clear any cached data that might be causing the issue.

    **Step 3:** **Check for Updates**

Make sure that your Trados Studio is up to date. Sometimes, issues can arise from using outdated software. Check for updates within the application.

    **Step 4:** **API Key**

To find your API key, log into the Language Cloud portal and navigate to the settings section. Under API Credentials, you can create and retrieve your API key. This can be used as an alternative method for logging in.

    **Step 5:** **Network Configuration**

Ensure that there are no firewalls or network configurations blocking Trados Studio from accessing the Language Cloud.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, it may be necessary to log a support request with the development team to investigate further.
