NMT not populated in the target segment

Hello, I am experiencing an issue with SDL Trados 2024. After installing the latest update (prompted by the orange notification bell in the Editor), the machine translation stopped working: machine translation (cloud based sources) no longer appears in the settings (I mean in editor-in the target segment). I have checked all relevant parameters—including internet connection, MT provider settings, and general configuration—but the problem persists.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance

Question improvement suggestion: Provide the exact error message or any specific behavior observed when trying to access machine translation settings.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with machine translation in Trados Studio 2024. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

**Step 1:** Verify your subscription. Ensure that your Machine Translation Cloud subscription is active and that you have the "machine_translation" benefit on your account. You can check this in the Language Cloud Admin settings.

**Step 2:** Check your project settings. Go to Project Settings > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Translation Memory and Automated Translation. Make sure that the SDL Machine Translation Cloud Provider is correctly set up as your MT provider.

**Step 3:** Update or reinstall the plugin. If you have the Language Weaver Cloud plugin installed, consider uninstalling it and then downloading the latest version from the RWS AppStore.

**Step 4:** Restart Trados Studio. Sometimes, simply restarting the application can resolve temporary issues.

**Step 5:** Check for known issues. There is a known issue (CRQ-27523) regarding NMT not applying to empty segments. If this is the case, you might want to create your project using only Group Share TMs and then run a pre-translation task with the Language Weaver Cloud provider.

**Step 6:** If the problem persists, consider reaching out to RWS Support for further assistance, as they may have additional insights or solutions based on your specific setup.
