Paul For the record, this issue still exists in TS 2019 R2, and turning off the lookahead feature "fixed" it.

Hi Stefan, thanks for sharing and confirming! I have successfully tested the same workaround (turning off lookahead) recently with Studio 2019 SR-1 and SR-2 when a customer complained about term recognition issues (and even Studio crashes) with a large local termbase.

I have this issue since Studio 2011, and with no version it has been fixed. And I had all of them. Now 2019 R2. It's really annoying! With me, usually, it doesn't help "cursoring in and out", the terms simply aren't displayed. When Studio stops displaying, it will display terms in NO segment. After a while, suddenly it works again. And now, whilst I wanted to check how the "Termbase viewer window" is called, Studio crashed! :-(
The thing is, I had other issues before with this Termbase viewer window (the terms wouldn't display when I right-clicked on a term with "View term details") and a guy from SDL Support recommended me to NOT save my working files (TM, termbase) inside of Dropbox (because of the syncing feature). Now I save those files outside of Dropbox (and must sync manually every day or couple of days :-( ) but this issue persists!

Other issues are that I have to logon to my account almost every time I start Studio; if I don't close the search window (Ctrl+F) immediately after the search but later, after translating several other segments, the cursor jumps back to the last found word, etc. etc...

Other hints were that my antivirus software (Bitdefender) could be responsible, but I excluded already all SDL files from Bitdefender → nothing helps. Frustrating...

IYAM, term recognition never has and never will work, until they ditch the underlying system completely and start from scratch.

I'm actually using Studio again as my main CAT tool, but only together with RyS Termbase & Translation Assembler, which provides a properly functioning terminology system for Studio.

Greetings, I had the same problem. Term recognition was not showing any results. First I ran the Repair function of Studio and when that didn't work I used the Reset Windows Layout function. That fixed the issue for me.

I have encountered the same problem of term recognithion working way too rhapsodically and disabling LookAhead did not help. I get the feeling that it happens more frequently when the source language is Hungarian, with its special characters, than when the source language is English. It is very frustrating, because without term recognition I might as well just use regular Word to translate mechanically. Right now it is not working once again, at it is no fun typing in 'electronic surveillance system' for the hundredth time (I know, copy-paste....., but still). And I really have no idea what prompts this bug and what fixes it, it just comes and goes without me having any effect on it whatsoever. So far, nothing that I have tried fixes it.

Did you try to upload your Termbase to Studio Live? The term recognition works differently for the Live /Language Cloud version.
