MultiTerm 2017 Termbase files failed to open

 Hello,

I cannot open or create any termbase in MultiTerm 2017 following a recent update. The following error messages are received:
On opening an existing termbase: "This termbase cannot be opened because it has been created with an unsupported version of MultiTerm."
I have had no problem using them before and I didn't make any change to the files.
On creating a termbase: "MultiTerm is unable to create the termbase in a unsupported version of MultiTerm."
My OS is Win 10, and latest updates installed (MultiTerm 2017 SR1-14.1.2441.0). I've also reinstalled both MultiTerm and Trados - to no avail.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Hi, I thought I put my experience here, too. I recently forced to update my windows10 (as of 1 Mar 18. All happened in background, and keep downloading it without asking my permission. Very annoying.).
After that all my termbase suddenlly started to show the exactly the same error.

So, I actually went to advanced window update option, and rolled back my windows 10 to previous version. Then all went back to normal. Now I can use all my termbase with the latest version of termbase without any problems.

So this could be caused by Windows update & multiterm compatibility issues. (I hope SDL will issue some patches for this shortly...)

I do have Japanese chars in the file path. next time when Windows force me to update again (hope not), I'll try to change the file path and see how it go...
