MultiTerm 2017 - 'Failed to initialize view 'MultiTerm.Studio.EditorView'

Question

I've installed MultiTerm 2017, but when I try to open it I get the error message "Failed to initialize view 'MultiTerm.Studio.EditorView'." 
 
 During my first failed attempt at installation I received a message from McAfee regarding the quarantine of an infected file: "Threat found: Real Protect-EC!ED7978CC5179", 
 
 so I turned the Wi-Fi off to enable me to install the program. The desktop shortcut is now there, but the program won't open. 
 
 Could anyone help me with this?

Hi Kevin Vodden and Toni Racero , 
 
It sounds to me as though you need to whitelist MultiTerm with your security provider.

Did you try the resolution here? 
 
1. Close SDL MultiTerm 2017 
 
2. Go to: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm 
 - rename the MultiTerm14 folder to old_MultiTerm14 
 
3. Restart SDL MultiTerm 2017 with Administrative rights (if possible) just for the first time. 
 
NOTE: If you have this error with a previous version of MultiTerm you need to rename a different folder in the same location: 
 e.g. For MultiTerm 2015 you need to rename the folder MultiTerm12, for Multiterm 2014 rename the folder MultiTerm11,
