Export termbase to Excel

Question

I'm using SDL Trados 2017. I can't find instructions to export my termbase to Excel. What I've found is for an older version and the steps don't work in 2017.

Unless you are using an app you can't export your termbase to Excel. There is a CSV export in MultiTerm but it's quite flawed in many ways. Download and install the Glossary Converter from the SDL AppStore and then it's childs play.

Hi Jocelyne, if the termbase structure is not too complex and if there aren't too many languages you can define custom exports which can fit into an Excel structure. For example I'm using language grouped exports (all terms of a language together, separated by semicolon) which are than converted automatically into a tab delimited structure that fits into Excel (one column per language). Another "excellent" solution is Multiterm Excelling ( appstore.sdl.com/.../) , quite flexible but still very user-friendly. Regards, Bruno Ciola
