I had a similar problem and I have installed MultiTerm form my SDL Account. Now I have the MutiTerm icon on my desktop but when I click on it, a message appears that main component is missing. The same happens when I try to open it from SDL Studio Menu.

I suggest you make sure that the multi-term version and the studio version of both are the latest for each product. You may well have downloaded them both from your account at the same time but I'm sure there has been a number of cumulative updates since the release into your account. It's important to make sure that when you update one of them that you update the other one as well with any available release.
The latest versions for each of these tools are these:
SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 - 14.1.6413.8
SDL MultiTerm 2017 SR1 - 14.1.2471.5
