MultiTerm 2015: No terms displayed

I have SDL Trados 2015 SR§ and MultiTerm 2015 SR2 installed.

I have been working a while with the translation memories now and wanted to start with terminology management.

Using an SDL tutorial video I converted bilingual Excel glossary and then created a new termbase based on the definition of that converted file.

The termbase was created with no error message and it seems like it is open in MultiTerm.

--> But no terms are displayed!

I uninstalled, re-downloaded from SDL, re-installed the software, re-created new termbase as before but the same thing happens.

Also I can click on the button "Add new" but I cannot enter anything.

Then I opened the Microsoft German Terminology Collection termbase that is by default installed with MultiTerm and the same here: No terms displayed.

What am I doing wrong?

  • Hi ,

I apologise now for asking the obvious but I guess it's worth making sure that you actually have the Term Recognition window available to you. I have seen users who have mistakenly closed the term recognition window leaving only the term search window... they sort of look similar when they are empty... and this will not show terms. So try using View -> Reset Window Layout and this may solve the issue.

Then I would make sure that you have the latest version of Multiterm installed to match your version of Studio. So if you are using 2015 these should be:

    SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR3 - 12.3.5281.10
    SDL MultiTerm 2015 SR2 - 12.2.1657.4

Perhaps check these things first and then we can look for harder problems.
