Multiterm URL problem and script error

Question

When teleworkers working on our servers try and add new terms they get this message. Apparently the default URL is pointing to a place on their computers (C-drive) which is of no use to us, since all are working through a web portal directly connected to our centrally located servers. Any idea how to redirect the URL to point to a better location ?

This may be a CU6 problem. Try following the resolution in this KB article to resolve:

ok - hopefully will be in the next CU for Studio/MultiTerm. 
 
I said may because nothing is ever guaranteed. If your problem is caused by something unknown then it won't fix it. It seems likely this is the problem but we won't know for sure until you try it. You could also roll back to CU5 if that's easier for you? Just do this in the windows control panel through the installed updates option on the left navigation menu in programs and features. Find CU6 and uninstall it.

No surprises there then. You need to run the powershell workaround that you don't want to run because the fix has not been released in a CU yet. If you keep applying the same CU6 without attempting to fix it using the powershell script then it will never solve your problem. 
 
If you have a problem with CU5 then it must be something else. Can you provide more details so we can try and see whether it's the same problem or not? Which layout are you using, screenshots, error logs?
