Multiterm 2017 won't open - error message "method not found"

Question

Hi! 
 
 When opening Multiterm 2017, I only get the following error message (in German, English: "method not found") and the programme closes immediately. 
 
 I have tried uninstalling Multiterm and installing it again, didn't work. Any idea what I could do?

I think this is caused because you have updated SDL Studio 2017- but not MultiTerm. Both Studio and MultiTerm must always be up-to date and on the latest versions. 
 
As you are unable to use the AutoUpdate feature in MultiTerm, please navigate to the following folder- 
C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14\Updates and double-click MultiTermUpdateClient.exe and follow the instructions.

 Does this mean that you no longer get an error message? 
 Are you able to see the MultiTerm icon in the taskbar at all?

I think under the circumstances it would be wise to log a free installation support ticket 
 
 gateway.sdl.com/liveagentlicensing (selecting installation issue)- then the support team can take a look at try and get to the bottom of this for you
