I would suggest exporting the content of the first termbase (into an xml file) and importing it into the other one, with the below setting:

This would merge the entries, i.e. add the Italian term to the group where it is missing and so on. Of course first please create a back-up of the TB you are exporting into.

thanks for the suggestion, but that's a solution I already tried. The problem with merging on terms or a language is that Multiterm isn't able to take in account the differences between the context/subject of the terms, so the results are not really accurate.

I guess, I would need to find a way to synchronize on the definitions of the english terms (as those are identical in both termbases), but can't find a way to do that with Multiterm or the Glossary convertor.

As both TBs have more then 10 000 entries, filtering and matching the terms in Excel would be real headache.

Thank you for this update. Indeed if entries differ in the context information MultiTerm might not be able to tell them apart.

In this case then I would also go with Excel. Conditional filtering and duplicate removal should help clean the list I think.
