The easiest way is to simply add a termbase in Studio, but choose SDL Language Cloud Terminology:

Then when the dialigue opens click on the help.  But my guess is the penny will drop at this point.

I am not able to verify that doing so will give me new termbase entries besides our own ones (which is what I had secretly hoped for), but what I am happy to verify is that the help page mentioned in that "Add Language Cloud termbase" dialogue in the Project Settings is just so good and just so well-written ... so thank you for that. I will take it from there. So the Language Cloud (LC) termbase sits there in the Studio project, integrated, and it does match the project pair chosen. Next I will look into my options as to how can I get terms recognised from that new LC termbase I created 5 days ago ... or better yet, leverage cloud terms from fellow SDL MultiTerm and LC users.

This is not a shared community termbase in the cloud.  It is yours and you are simply using this instead of a MultiTerm termbase.  Of course you can share this with other users you choose to work with but the number of users will depend on the package you have chosen:

This cloud termbase will be empty until you put something in there.

I can't work out whether you have misunderstood what this is all about or not?

Yes, I had misunderstood the concept of LC termbases. I thought they were cloud-based terminology, MultiTerm users sharing their term translations with another. Now I have a better grasp of it.

I recommend the Community to have a read of these two links from the SDL knowledge repositories. They are short but essential to get started for those ready to take the step from offline CAT vs. browser-based translation work to genuinely "cloud-assisted"/sharing economy-oriented procedures.
