Terminology recognition is not working

I am using Trados 2017 on Windows 7, and terminology recognition doesn't work when using a server based termbase. The window is stuck in the message "Searching for terminology". Also the terminology verification with the QA tool is not working, it reacts very very slow. I need several hours for a simple check.

  • The first thing i would do is check that you have updated both Studio and MultiTerm and that these are on the latests updates.

I don't have the latest update for Trados. Every time I install the latest version of Trados I am not able to save my work. I get a cryptic error message that this is not possible for some reason, and sometimes I have other things to do with my 500 Euro expensive translation software than searching the solution for one of the many bugs (for example work for my income).

Also ensure you logged on to the PC as ADMIN and that you are also running Studio as ADMIN.

I am not sure about this. I have only one account, this should be the admin by default.

From your account, it would appear that you are running a Freelance version. Please =be advised that you cannot run Freelance licenses on a Server domain- however if you have been provided a package with server access, this should not be an issue.

I should have access to server based termbase with a freelance version.

You also need to ensure that both Studio and MultiTerm are added to your AntiVirus whitelist.

    I don't use Antivirus software.

As you have mentioned you are using Windows 7- please be advised that Microsoft will be dropping all Windows 7 support within the next few days (this means that we will also no longer be able to offer Windows 7 tech support)-

I have the same problem with Trados running on Windows 10.

I also activated the QA Checker 3.0 WITH terminology verification AND the excluded segments, but the result is the same: I get results for all segments.

Please forget this post of mine, it referred to another topic. I mixed them up.
