MultiTerm feature suggestion: option to drag and drop entered translations for a source term to manually change their order

Hi All,

For almost two years now, I have been working on creating my own Microsoft termbase for English<>Bulgarian.

Time and again, it has happened that after adding 4-5 translations for a single source term, I would wish to be able to change their order manually but would not be able to do so unless I am willing to delete and re-enter terms from scratch.

It would be great to be able to just drag and drop terms within a list of several already entered terms to change their list order manually. This will optimize the order of listed terms when term recognition offers terms in Trados editor.

Best regards,

  • Hi

I can only sympathise with you over this.  The default mode was introduced to make it easier to add and edit terms but the UI was clearly not built to support manipulation of the order so I think it would be a non-trivial piece of work to support it now.  I have raised this with the dev team and the product manager can decide when/if they want to support this feature in the default mode or not.

What is your workflow when you are doing this?  D you need to be in default mode at all or could you leave it in Flags mode and don't switch?
