Can confirm this works. In MultiTerm Desktop, go to edit mode. Select a term, hold down Shift and use the up and down arrow keys to reorder terms. Nice trick, didn't know about this one :)

You need to put the display into anything other than Default and then just press F2. This video explains:

1. An interesting question is why it would not work in Default mode though? What is the reasoning behind that?

2. It worked once and on the second try (with a different term) the flag layout no longer worked and terms could no longer be moved...

Because the default mode does not have this "Edit" feature.  The UI is built for easier editing and doesn't need an "Edit" feature to edit the terms; it also doesn't support dag and drop.  Most probably an oversight or not considered important.

I have no idea... I can't reproduce this problem.  What steps did you actually follow?

This is actually a very clever way to reorganize synonyms. It really works. However, in MultiTerm 2019, it does not work in Default Mode. Apparently it only works in "Languages only" display mode (perhaps in other display modes but I did not test it). Put the entry in Edit Mode and then, this is important, you have to first click on any of the little pencil icons. Thanks for the tip, Michael!

I have been testing this option for several days now, and I feel that the implementation is very shaky. Switching from default to flags mode throws MultiTerm in deep and intensive thought and it can take up to 40 seconds to implement this single and supposedly simple step.

The switch back is every bit as bad. Actually, on several occasions MultiTerm crashed and closed while trying to switch back to the default view.

Also, it makes no sense to not be able to rearrange terms in the default view.

I can only sympathise with you over this.  The default mode was introduced to make it easier to add and edit terms but the UI was clearly not built to support manipulation of the order so I think it would be a non-trivial piece of work to support it now.  I have raised this with the dev team and the product manager can decide when/if they want to support this feature in the default mode or not.

What is your workflow when you are doing this?  D you need to be in default mode at all or could you leave it in Flags mode and don't switch?
