I need to uninstall MultiTerm to reinstall an updated version.

Please, I tried to update MultiTerm to version SR1, the same way I did with Studio Freelancer 2017 SR1, however, I get the message that there is a higher version already installed and that I need to remove it. I've already removed all the MultiTerm that was in the Windows 10 Standard Resources folder, but the last folder always gets this message. But I can't find where that superior version of MultiTerm is installed. Can someone help me please? Thanks.

  • Hello ,

This error normally arises when the software hasn't been removed correctly from your machine.

To rectify this, please access your SDL account from the machine you are using and reinstall MultiTerm as normal.

Then once you have logged in (both Studio and MultiTerm)...

Trados Studio interface showing the 'Help' menu expanded with 'Check for Updates' option highlighted.

Simply go to Help - Check for Updates or simply click on the notifications' icon and install the updates.

Just to note- than when you are upgrading the version, it is not necessary to uninstall the earlier version as the update will remove the necessary files automatically.

If you are upgrading from for instance, Studio 2017 to Studio 2019- you should uninstall the software via the Windows Control panel - selecting the Remove Suite of Products option

Windows Control Panel's 'Programs and Features' list with 'SDL MultiTerm 2019' and 'SDL Trados Studio 2019' highlighted for removal.

Please let us know if the problem is now resolved.
