Hello,
We work very frequently with Multiterm Extract 2014 with no problems, but two months ago, we upgraded our linguists, their machines from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, and on the next extraction project, Multiterm Extract did not work. We can open Multiterm Extract, select files, but when we click "Finish" a time count appears and no terms are extracted. We get a blank form. It can stay like this for 45 minutes for a txt or HTML with only 100 words.
We searched the knowledge base and tried all the tricks: Remove Java and install it again, reinstall Multiterm, reinstall Java, Multiterm and Trados. Install the Trados 2014 dlls for file compatibility, convert bilingual files to TTX and test them. Unlucky. Each test finished with 0 terms extracted
We thought it might be related to some Windows 10 Extract 2014 compatibility issues, and since we have Studio 2019 we asked SDL for the Multiterm Extract 2019 (it was not available in our online downloads) and it gets installed on the machines. The same old fashion window and the same results. We tried again with this version the same tricks (reinstall Java, reinstall Studio, try with TTX, txt, HTML, doc, remove everything and reinstall again), but the same results
Fortunately we have a few machines that remained with Windows 8.1 and we tested Multiterm 2019 here. And it works!
Any ideas that allow us to run the Multiterm extract on Windows 10?
