What do you mean by "MultiTerm widget"? 
Can you please explain a bit more in detail what you did and in which application (MultiTerm Desktop, MultiTerm Convert or ...) when you received this error message? 
Best would be to also provide a screenshot.

I don't know whether it's still supported, let alone developed, and I can't get it to work with my termbases (although it would be useful). But there is the widget, a small lookup application for MultiTerm termbases.

Yes, I know this widget very well, but I could not imagine Anette was talking about this because she mentioned the message "error while reading the XML-structure, which to me sounded more than an error message from MultiTerm Convert. 
AFAIK, this widget did not get any updates for quite a while. It still works more or less fine, but I remember that we faced problems connecting to server-based termbases.

Maybe reset the widget by deleting these files and restarting?
