I updated CRQ-24090 which was raised for all cases where images are not being displayed in Multimedia field when the file name contains apostrophe (') or ampersand (&)

For now, the workaround would be for the image to displayed correctly, is to use the legacy layouts.

Thanks a lot. Another workaround is to rename the file. The problem consists more in a very unspecific error message and the time lost trying to find out what went wrong... Don't know whether, as a stopgap solution, you could introduce a filename check and display a clear error message when a user wants to upload a file containing a problematic character.

 I agree that time is wasted.

While what you suggest could be a nice little app, I would be hesitant based on:

• We should address the issues raised as this is long term happiness
• Friendly errors / warnings 

There are times I think there is never enough coffee and this is one
