My termbase window has somehow disappeared ;-) I have added it manually in the options section and in the project section, but it does not show as usual on the right hand side of the TM results. I haven't changed a thing since it last worked, so I am kind of clueless.

It always helps to show a screenshot... but I'd almost put money on you having closed it by mistake. You wouldn't be the first!
Try View -> Reset Window layout and see if you get it back?
