Importing .XML File exported from TermStar (STAR Group) into Multiterm

Hi Community,

A client of mine who uses the STAR Group environemnt (Transit & TermStar) wants me to integrate their glossary when I perform translations for them.

Since I use Trados and Multiterm, I would need to import the XML File they prodided me with into Multiterm, or find a way to convert the XML file into a format that I can handle (TBX, Excel).

I've tried importing the file in a new TB in Multiterm, no entries get imported, and when I try to use GlossaryConverter, I get the following error message:

I've told the client that I'm unable to import the XML File provided, but they are only able to provide me with their glossary in XML Format.

Does anyone know of any tool or trick to be able to import/convert an XML-Export from TermStar into Multiterm?

    Hi  , thank you for your reply but as I've already written in my description, GlossaryConverter doesn't work and I get an error message that the XML file format is unknown (see my screenshot from my first post).

    Hi, since the XML file that I received from my client holds personal information, I can't share it. However, I was able to download a demo XML file from WebTerm directly, which holds the same structure:

      You cannot convert that file with the Glossary Converetr as it needs MultiTerm XML so it knows what to do with it. 

    I’m pretty sure that TermStar can export a TBX so try that instead.

    If that won’t work then you could probably extract the terms from the XML you have into Exvel and then convert that easily enough. But I think TBX is the way to go.
