Multiterm is unable to add the entry

Hello,

We work with Trados and Multiterm using 2 licenses corresponding to 2 users in a collaborative setup on a server. For the past few days, we have encountered an issue with the termbase (TB): when attempting to add terms to the TB, the following error message appears: "Multiterm is unable to add the entry."

We have taken several steps to resolve this issue, but none have been successful. These include: updating Multiterm, freeing up server space, and completely uninstalling and reinstalling both Trados and Multiterm. The issue does not seem to be related to the size of the translation memory (TM), as the error occurs across multiple TMs, regardless of whether they are small or large.

We have also attempted to create new glossaries, but the same error persists. Furthermore, it is not possible to add terms directly from Multiterm either, as another error message appears: “Entry not saved. All mandatory items have to be completed,” which prevents us from adding terms. Below is a detailed description of the error:

  • What a bunch of garbage. I paid all that money, again, and have been forced to use Trados Studio on a current project, and as usual nothing works. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my stupid termbases working in stupid broken Trados.

How hard can this be? I have never once not been able to add a term to my termbase in memoQ or CafeTran, but Trados users permanently live in a special circle of software hell it seems. God, how I hate this program. I don't think any program on my computer has ever wasted as much time as Trados has over the years.
