How can I find previous multiterm memories after many months and years? Impossible to open and find them

Hi,

I am writing you from Rome, Italy.

I have Trados and Multiterm 2022 and I have a licence.

Over last months, I didn't use trados and Multiterm because I couldn't find my previous multiterm memories. Today I need them but there's no way to find them as previously occurred.

If I go to APRI - seleziona termbase and sfoglia the following errors appear to me:

In the past I tried to send you some post but I never had any satisfactory reply. May be I lost my previous MultiTerms? 

That's Why I am no more using Trados.

And even if any specific error appear to me, the only way to use MultiTerm is to create a new MultiTerm any time but then I can no more view and open it.

I hope to find some technical help and to definitely solve my problem.

    I'm not quite clear from your question exactly what you are doing when you get the error messages you list.  Are you trying to open a termbase in MultiTerm, or trying to attach it to a project in Trados Studio?

    You state that you can't find your Termbases, which wouldn't accord with the errors you see, but just in case it is an issue of knowing where they are, the default location of a Termbase, when created with MultiTerm 2022, is C:\Users\**Username**\Documents\Trados\MultiTerm\Termbases, where **Username** is the name you sued when you connected to your computer.

    However, you can choose where to save Termbases instead of the default location, so the easiest solution would be to search your computer in File Explorer, for *.sdltb - the "sdltb" part of the file name is the extension of a Termbase, so if you search for that, you will find any matching files, which should be Termbases you have created in the past (incidentally, Translation Memories have the extension .sdltm, in case you need to find those as well.)

    If you can find the files, but can't open them, and get the errors you mentioned then it does sound as though you may need to repair the installation, but can you confirm if you are trying to open them from MultiTerm or Studio?  If you could reply with screenshots of what you are doing that would help us to understand exactly what is happening, and hopefully get a definite answer.

    Unfortunately I followed the path that you suggested to me C:\Users\**Username**\Documents\Trados\MultiTerm\Termbases where Maria is the name linked to "username" but I found there only the last termbase that I created, not the previous ones.

    Doing another research, I was more lucky and I found them saved on my desktop.

    It is very useful!

    Usually when I try to open termbases I am trying both from multiterm-open source and, when I see them selecting directing the termbase.

    Next time I will try to follow the right path.
