On a laptop you need to use the left "Alt" key and "Fn" key and enter the numbers using the number block activated by the Fn Key
Æ is 146
æ is 145
Ø is 0216
ø is 0248
Å is 143
å is 134
It depends on the make of your laptop, but depressing the Fn key gives access to the functions engraved in red/orange on the keys of the keyboard. So, you should see red or orange (or sometimes blue) numbers on top of certain keys. These are the numbers you can type together with the ALT-Fn key.
Do not use the number keys on the top row!
