Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt - object reference not set to an instance of an object - Fehlermeldung im Umgang mit MultiTerm - Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.8.3007

I upgraded my computers from Windows 10 to 11 and purchased new computers at the same time. Before the change, I returned the Studio 2019 licence and have now successfully reactivated it.

Now MulitTerm is causing a problem: although I have recreated my current project, MultiTerm is not responding and I get this error message when I try to add terms to the selected term bank during translation. Term recognition and database search don't work either.

I am also unable to edit or add terms in MultiTerm itself. I have also saved the term bank under a different name in a different location and tried again, but the error message remains the same. Any ideas as to what the problem might be and what I can do to reactivate MultiTerm both in Studio 2019 and MultiTerm itself?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello Jutta,

To address the 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object' error you're encountering with MultiTerm in Trados Studio 2019, please follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Ensure that both Trados Studio and MultiTerm are updated to the latest versions. You can check for updates by going to the 'Help' menu in each application.

**Step 2:** Since you mentioned that you upgraded your computers, ensure that your Windows 11 is fully updated as well. Check for any pending updates and install them.

**Step 3:** Repair your installations of Trados Studio and MultiTerm through the Control Panel. Go to 'Programs and Features', find both applications, right-click, and select 'Repair'.

**Step 4:** If the issue persists, try resetting your Trados Studio settings to default. Make sure to back up your settings and resources before doing this.

**Step 5:** If you are still facing the same error, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling both Trados Studio and MultiTerm. Remember to back up your translation memories and term bases before proceeding with the uninstallation.

**Step 6:** As a last resort, you can try creating a new termbase to see if the issue is related to the specific termbase you are currently using.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please provide any additional error messages or details about what happens when you try to use MultiTerm, as this will help in diagnosing the problem further.
