MultiTerm Script Error

Hello everyone!

I was trying to add a new term.
1st message received : "This term already exists in the TB. Do you want to merge the files?"
"Duplicate" of "Merge" options don't work when I click on either of them.

This error message appears (FR: an error occured in the script of this page... the # does not exist in this TB)

I got stuck (page is hanging). When I close and try to add the term again, the same happens. Worst : the term duplicata appears but when I click to verify the definition, nothing appears.

Can you help me with that?

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

Hello! It seems you're encountering a frustrating issue with MultiTerm when trying to add a new term. Let's break down the steps you can take to resolve this:

    **Step 1:** **Check for Duplicates**

Since the error message indicates that the term already exists, first, ensure that the term is not already in the termbase. You can use the Duplicate Term Search feature in MultiTerm to locate any existing entries.

**Step 2:** **Merge or Create Duplicate**

If the term does exist, you have two options:

    - **Merge**: If you want to combine the new term with the existing one, select 'Edit Term' and then 'Merge with existing entry'.

    - **Create Duplicate**: If you want to keep both entries, select 'Edit Term' and then 'Create duplicate entry'.

    **Step 3:** **Check Termbase Structure**

Make sure that the termbase structure includes all necessary fields. If a field is missing, you may encounter issues. You can edit the termbase definition file in MultiTerm Desktop to add any missing fields.

    **Step 4:** **Recreate the Termbase**

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider recreating the termbase. This can help eliminate any corruption or structural issues. Follow the instructions in the article on how to recreate a termbase.

    **Step 5:** **Update Software**

Ensure that you are using the latest version of MultiTerm. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer releases, so updating could resolve your issue.

**Step 6:** **Clear Cache and Restart**

After making changes, clear your browser cache and restart MultiTerm to ensure that all updates take effect.

If you continue to experience issues, please provide more details about the steps you've taken, and we can explore further solutions.
