Terms sometimes added only on second attempt?

I sometime encounter a problem in Multiterm (2024, but it happened in 2021 as well) that terms aren't added to the database at the first go. I need to add the term again a second time and then the term is shown twice in the Term Recognition pane. This doesn't happen always, the behaviour is very inconsistently. Any ideas why this might happen? (Trados Studio 2024 SR1 - 18.1.3.6657).Currently, the MultiTerm database was added new in Studio 2024 at the start of the project and only contains 20 -30 terms.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific steps to reproduce the issue and clarify if any error messages appear when the terms fail to add correctly.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It sounds like you're experiencing an intermittent issue with adding terms in MultiTerm, which can indeed be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

    **Step 1:** **Reorganize Your Termbase**

    - Open MultiTerm and go to the Termbase Management view.

    - Select your termbase and click on the 'Reorganize' icon. This can help refresh the termbase and improve term recognition.

    **Step 2:** **Check for Updates**

    - Ensure that both Trados Studio and MultiTerm are updated to the latest versions. Updates often include fixes for known issues.

**Step 3:** **Use the 'Rapid Add Term' Plugin**

    - If you haven't already, consider installing the 'Rapid Add Term' (RAT) plugin from the RWS AppStore. This plugin can enhance the term addition process and may help with the issue you're facing.

**Step 4:** **Try Adding Terms Again**

    - If the issue persists, try clicking on an existing term in the Term Recognition pane before adding a new term. This has been noted as a workaround for similar issues.

    **Step 5:** **Reset Window Layout**

    - If you are still facing issues, try resetting the window layout in both Trados Studio and MultiTerm. Go to View > Reset Window Layout.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to keep an eye out for future updates that may address this behavior, as it has been logged with Development.
