This is usually due to a corrupted "settings.xm"l file. Close the widget, go to c:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm Widget\MultiTerm12\" and delete this file, then restart the widget. The file will automatically be recreated and everything should now run fine.
Note: if you have Multiform 2014, the folder will be named "MultiTerm11".
