Better having one big termbase or several different termbases?

Is it better to just have one big termbase per language pair or to have different termbases (for exemple for different clients or different specialisation fields)?

  • Hi Christina,

I know people who have many termbases and they use them all in Studio at the same time, and I know people who use one termbase with attributes to filter on the domain if needed. It's down to personal preference and how you prefer to work.

One practical aspect I can think of is that if you want terms to be saved into multiple termbases then this can be a but painstakingly slow because you can only add to one termbase at a time. So if this was likely to be something you'd do regularly then one termbase and attribute controls may be the easiest solution!

    Regards
