Error 602 with Multiterm Extract 2011

Hi everybody,

yesterday I created a Bilingual Extraction Project with Multiterm Extract 2011 and worked for three hours. This morning I reopened it and worked for an hour. After a while, I had to move my PC, so I decided to save the project and put the computer in standby, but I left MTE opened with the project opened. Later I had to move the PC again and accidentally took off the power supply. When I turned on the PC and tried to reopen the project, the Error 602: "Error opening project" was displayed. I desperately tried to retrieve previous versions of the files but they seem not to be available. What should I do in this case?

Thank you all

  • Hi Cristian,

You seem to have hit the "nobody knows about this" button! I can't find a reference to Error 602 at all in our database, but searching a little wider seems to suggest it's related to data used to find the path to whatever you're looking at. This makes me think it might be related to you cutting the power supply while MultiTerm Extract was still running.

At the moment I don't have a solution for this... but perhaps some person experienced with MultiTerm Extract in practice might have some idea if there is a workaround for a problem like this.

  • Hi Christian,

With the help of one of our Product Managers who found a reference to this error in an email from 2008...

    Unknown said:

"The reason for this seems to be an issue in the XML parser to load projects.  It cannot interpret characters in paths that are not available on the default locale of the installed operating system.  In this case, the user had an English OS but German umlauts in the path where the project files are stored. Removing the umlauts fixed the problem."

So you could check your path and maybe this is the problem?

    Regards

    Paul
