Termbase gets bigger when deleting entries and doing a reorganisation

Hi all,

I deleted some entries and duplicates in a local MultiTerm termbase and noticed that the file size got larger instead of smaller. I then did a reorganisation because I thought this might reduce the size. Instead now the termbase is ten times bigger than it was in the beginning.

Does anyone have an idea how this works?

Thank you in advance.

  • Have had similar issues in SDL MultiTerm 2014 and 2015 - the file bloat used not to worry me where my HDD/SSD size was the only constraint, but since using it in-house, where we are limited in our storage space that is sync-ed constantly, this can become a problem. Have noticed that typically it jumps from about 35 Mb to 250 Mb. Only real solution I have found is to create a new TB with an identical definition, and export/import the current TB into the new one. Occasionally the syncing Programme (using Windows 8.1 Synchronisation Center) also turns a TB read only - due to a syncing conflict although that issue I have managed to solve with our syncing solution.
