It's me again:-) I thought the following could be of help. When I try to edit any of the terms appearing in the hitlist, the following error message appears:

Literal translation: "Error in the page script. The "firstChild" property can't be obtained. There is no reference or it hasn't been defined."

Thank you! I managed to recover all the terms from my glossaries. By using Glossary Converter, I converted the original corrupted termbase files to Excel files with columns containing the language fields and definitions only.

However, when I open any termbase in Multiterm and browse through the hitlist, the term entry pane does not show any content yet. I can only see the copyright (if added to the term entry).

In https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=Blank-page-script-error-or-error-no-such-method-getEntry-when-editing-or-adding-a-term-to-an-existing-termbase, it says "Incorrect or corrupted Internet Explorer settings can also cause this error. You can first try to reset your Internet Explorer settings as described on the following Microsoft Support page: Microsoft KB article 318378 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378)." In this page, the link in How to reset Internet Explorer settings is not working. But I found instructions to reset Internet Explorer in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/923737

Even though I never use Internet Explorer but Chrome, I tried resetting Internet Explorer by following the steps in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/923737. I'm not sure if it worked since, after Internet Explorer finishes applying the default settings, I clicked Close and then OK, but, when I restart Internet Explorer, the same undesired home page appears.

I tried Resolution 1 from https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=Blank-page-script-error-or-error-no-such-method-getEntry-when-editing-or-adding-a-term-to-an-existing-termbase but, when I try to register jscript.dll by entering regsvr32 jscript.dll in Start > Run, the following error message appears:

As for resolution 2, I cannot find the  mtonline.properties in 64-bit environment: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat X.0\webapps\multiterm\WEB-INF. I don't seem to have a "Apache Software Foundation" folder.

I'm sorry but this procedure is too hard to understand for me, since I have no background in computing.

How can I get my Multiterm termbases to display the content in the term entry pane?

Hi Florencia,

ok - I think you're reading the Multiterm Online parts which don't apply to you.  All you have to do is this:

1. Click Start > Run (or press [Windows Key + R]).
2. Type: regsvr32 jscript.dll

Let me know if you managed to do this and whether it worked for you or not?

No, Paul. It does not work. When I type "regsvr32 jscript.dll" in the run window, the following message appears:

Error message 0x80004005

I tried searching online to fix this error message, but there is no Microsoft-backed post applicable to my particular case. Could you help me fix it? (If you can, remember to  give me easy-to-follow, detailed instructions, since I know nothing about computing;-))

I think the best approach now will be to log a case. I have done this for you given you have messed around enough already! So you will probably see a notification shortly.
