Question on Glossaries to add on MultiTerm and Trados

Hello everyone!

I have a bunch of long glossaries that I want to add on MultiTerm, but it seems that the glossaries disappear when I open MultiTerm. If I click on one of the MultiTerm file, the MultiTerm will open and only then I can see that particular glossary. How can I be able to add all of my glossaries at once in MultiTerm?

Also, the glossaries that I add on MultiTerm will immediately be on SDL Trados 2015 when I open Trados to start a translation or do I have to add all of my glossaries individually on Trados in order to have my glossaries there every time I start to translate?

Looking forward to your advice.

Many thanks,

Cynara Saraiva.

  • Hello Cynara,

To have your MultiTerm glossaries available to you in Studio with every project you need to add them to your Project templates. If you are not using custom templates then just go to File -> Options -> Language Pairs -> All Language Pairs -> Termbases and add your termbases in there. Once you have done this they will be available for every project you create in the future.

Multiterm as a standalone tool is not needed during the translation process. It's more of a maintenance tool for creating, editing, importing, exporting termbases... that sort of thing.

    Regards
