Unable to open MultiTerm or import TM into Trados

I have just changed from Fluency to Trados but can neither import my existing TM from Fluency (tmx format; the error message says that the culture identifier is not correct. I also tried via txt to no avail) nor open MultiTerm (for some seconds a circle appears and that's it).

Some previous posts mentioned certain printer incompatibilities. Yet, I checked the registry accordingly and all seemed to be fine - though I actually used a Canon printer before installing a HP product.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi Stefanie,

Open the TMX with a text editor and see what the language codes are? Perhaps Fluency created a TMX with some bespoke language codes that Studio is unable to reconcile. Should be simple enough to replace them with something else in a text editor if this is the source of the problem. If you're not sure how to deal with this then feel free to email me the TMX and I'll happily take a look... would be interesting too. I've never seen a TMX from Fluency before.

On MultiTerm... I'm not sure. Maybe you need to make sure you have installed the products with admin rights? So right-click and install as admin.

    Regards
