XPath: nested elements

Question

Hi community, I know there is a very simple solution to this, but right now I can't really wrap my head around it. I have an XML file like this:

[[[include:reference]]]

Bâtiment I only need to translate the LABEL text but not the SPAN. However, if I set a rule not to translate the SPAN elements, the LABEL elements are also excluded from translation. How do I go about this?

Set //* to "not translatable" 
Set //LABEL (or //LABEL CLASS, sorry currently no time to check) to ALWAYS translatable

You are probably giving conflicting information to the parser. Can you share your actual file and your sdlfiletype?
