Parsing JSON files

I am trying to extract the text I need to translate in the JSON file in Studio 2015 by using the parsing settings.  But when I open my Studio 2015, I have JSON file showing in the project settings, but I do not have the option of Parsing Settings or Embedded Content.  How do I get to the Parsing Settings to select the only object line I need to have translated?

  • Hi Susan,

I'm not sure if you are referring to the JSON filetype in the appstore or a custom filetype you made.  But you should be able to see this:

If you can't see this then I suggest two courses of action.  First make sure you have admin rights on your machine because it may be possible you don't have the rights to install the app correctly perhaps, and the second thing would be to uninstall the app and try again, this time with admin rights.  So make sure that these are removed before you install and try again:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins\Packages\Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile.sdlplugin

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins\Packages\Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile.WinUI.sdlplugin

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins\Unpacked\Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12\Plugins\Unpacked\Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile.WinUI\

Then make sure you install both plugins:

    Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile.sdlplugin

    Supertext.Sdl.Trados.FileType.JsonFile.WinUI.sdlplugin

In fact as I write this I wonder if perhaps you just didn't install both plugins in the first place?

    Regards
