Verifika cannot handle comments in Trados Studio

Question

I'm working with Studio 2017. After contacting Verifika support about an error I received when using their software I received a reply saying that Verifika cannot handle comments in Trados. I had to remove the comments and run Verifika again in order to make it work correctly again.

The problem is that Verifika will run and find any issues in your bilingual Studio file, but once you go beyond a segment that contains a comment, you can no longer make any changes directly in Verifika.

I like the idea that I can just fix any issues directly in Verifika (unlike XBench, for instance). So my question is: Is there a way to export/remove the comments from Studio and import them again afterwards? I have a bad feeling that this is simply not possible. I just cannot work without the comments as they contain necessary references that are part of the translation job.

Any suggestions on how to deal with Studio comments in Verifika are much appreciated.

I like the idea of being able to export/import comments but there is no mechanism for doing this at the moment, and no plugins that I'm aware of. A possible workaround might be to export for external review so you have the comments in a Word file and then delete them from the sdlxliff for Verifika. 
 
Then you can either work with the comments from the Word export, so export your QA'd sdlxliff again for external review and see if you can copy the comments from the original into this new one. I have not tested this yet, but if it's possible then you could import the updated review file with the comments and you'll get them all back in Studio again. 
 
Unless someone has a better idea?
