Error message: object reference not set to an instance of an object SDL studio 2017

Question

Dear Technical support, 
 This error message first happened during converting the file to translatable format after I created a project. Then second time happened when I drag the file to translate, and try to save the bilingual file. I'm using Trados Freelance 2017, and already run the CU01 after I bought this license. 
 I also "reset the windows layout" as suggested in the community forum, no use either! 
 I use Windows 10 
 Please help me as I'm in a rush project which I received today, and I have to deliver tomoorow -- I already spent 3 hours to search solution, but without success.

Hi Yingzhi,

This is very generic error message which could be caused by a number of reasons. I suggest to temporary disable your Anti Virus and Run a Repair of your Studio 2017 installation - instructions provided in the article below:

gateway.sdl.com/CommunityKnowledge

It would not take long to run through. If the issue persist please log a Support Ticket with our Support Team directly so they can take it further.

Just closing this one off... problem was related to four slides in the overall pptx that prevented the file from saving. So this is a bug we need to resolve. Solution is to remove these four slides and handle them manually before putting them back into the target file.
