Problem with opening new files in SDL Trados 2015

When I try to create a new project, or open a new file in SDL Trados 2015, I have suddenly started receiving an error message in "Convert to Translatable format".

The message reads

"The process cannot access the file 'C:/Users/...Local/Temp/SDLTempFileManager\irddn0fc.213\636212087848769600_Extract2017 02 26 Translation engl B301.docx\_rels\rels' because it is being used by another person. 

 

The file I am trying to open is '2017 02 26 Translation engl B301.docx'

I have already tried restarting my pc, but still have this message.

I have carried oput the repair function

I appear to be able to work with existing projects, but cannot create new translations. 

 

Should I try reinstalling Trados?

  • No, you should check your anti-virus or Internet security solution. Let it not monitor the temp folder mentioned there.
    Reinstalling Studio will not help, as the problem is of a different nature. Studio cannot access files in the temp folder, so some other software is blocking them there. You need to identify that software (usually anti-virus, like Kaspersky) and adapt the settings there to not block / delete anything in temp.
